Remnants, 2022-23
The "Remnants" series is composed of the pieces of paper that remain from the hand-press printing process. The paper becomes paint on the canvas, symbolizing the dance between intention and improvisation. The philosophical underpinning of this series belies a certain element of removal of the human hand from mark-making processes alongside an innovation in using printmaking tools. This is mirrored in the current needs of many natural ecosystems: less human touch, and innovative when present.
